Angela Lawrence, owner of Local Motion Hair Design, truly loves her profession. After attending Beauty College in Buffalo, New York, she received her degree and has been a licensed professional for over 30 years.

She accepted her first position as a stylist at Cortos Salon in Buffalo before moving to Butler, Pennsylvania in 1986. Since that move, she was a stylist at a prominent salon in Butler and then made the decision to open her own salon. As a result, Local Motion opened it’s doors in 1990.

Education and advanced training have always been an important part of Angela’s professional outlook. She has been a platform artist, cutting and styling on stage, and has educated for Paul Mitchell Systems and is currently on the educational team of Beauty Forward, a very respected company that dominates the industry with Goldwell hair color. She has also received certifications from several schools, including The Abba Cutting Academy in Los Angeles, California, The Baltimore Academy for advanced color, perming and cutting as well as AirMakeup, Inc. in New Jersey.

Stacie has quite a history with Local Motion. Stacie graduated from Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and received her license in cosmetology and makeup in September of 1991. In October of 1991, she started her employment with Local Motion and has been with the salon since then.

Stacie has also attended the Baltimore Academy and AirMakeup, Inc. and is certified in human hair extensions.

Stephanie, a graduate of Slippery Rock University and Butler Beauty School, has been with Local Motion since 2003 and has already accomplished so much in the industry. Having been certified in air brush makeup from The AirMakeup Academy in Atlantic City, New Jersey, she excels in specialty makeup for weddings and has recently started doing special effects makeup.

She has trained one on one with hair color and highlighting specialists, and is continuously educating herself, staying up to date and hip to the newest hair styles and trends.

As the daughter of Local Motion owner and hairdresser, Angela, Stephanie says, "I work beside my mom every day, and that is the best training I could ever ask for! For as much as I think I already know, she has taught me to never be too sure because there is always something more to learn, a new adventure each and every day!"

Carleigh has been a valuable member our salon in 2005. She attended Butler County Area Vocational Technical School, where she majored in cosmetology.

Carleigh has attended advanced training seminars in Goldwell and Paul Mitchell color and dimension techniques, Aquage updo creations and styling, human hair extensions, as well as airbrush makeup and airbrush tanning application.

Katie joined our team in 2006 while she was attending Butler County Vocational Technical School and is the newest addition to Local Motion.

Majoring in cosmetology, graduating and honing her craft through invaluable on the job experience, Katie is well qualified as a member of our team.

Since joining Local Motion she has advanced her education through attending Goldwell and Paul Mitchell color and highlighting seminars, airbrush makeup and airbrush tanning application classes, as well as specialized pedicure training.
